Family always makes a long week better!

Tuesday we lost to Arkansas Fort Smith at their place and didn't get back until one thirty that morning. Thursday we lost to East Central in 5 sets. The girls are just finding a way to lose rather than finding a way to win. After Thursday's match, I for sure thought this was going to be a long season if they continued down this road. BUT!- we won on Saturday against Southeastern Oklahoma State in 4 sets. YAY! About time- right? Hopefully, this will get them back into the swing of things and show them what winning feels like again. Right now we are 12-6 overall and 1-2 in the conference.

On Thursday Zach's mom, Dayna, and his grandmother, Grammy, came into town for a few days. They went up to the Oklahoma City bombing memorial- which me and Zach HAVE to go to when we get a chance. On Friday afternoon we took them up to Mount Scott and took them to Meers for dinner.

This is where I live! God is amazing!

Driving up to the Mountain and then up on top.

The lakes and then another view from the top

Zach, Me, and Mrs. Dayna...........................Zach, Me and Grammy
(it was very cold and windy up there)

Zach and me

Driving back down (Mrs Dayna wouldn't look out the window)
Bison on the way to Meers from Mount Scott (okay, okay- I did not take this picture- I stole it off the Meers website- but I swear when my dad was out here we saw a Bison that close to the highway)

I know it looks like a shack- but it has the best burgers I have ever tasted!

The famous Meersburger- aka the Cowboy Burger -not to be confused with the Sissy Burger or the Yankee Burger :)

Mmmmmm....

Baking is WAY better than cooking!

A busy, busy week!

So Thursday night we played Midwestern at Midwestern in Wichita Falls, TX. Our best outside hitter went down and tore her mcl, lcl, acl, and miniscus. She did a pretty good job on it- but our other outside hitter was already out with a hamstring strain, so the line-up was pretty crazy and we got beat in 4.

Friday I left for NCTC Gainesville to go recruit some JuCo kids! I left bright and early and watched volleyball all day.

Starting off the trip and then coming home with a gorgeous sunset in the foreground. It is so awesome to drive on these open roads and see how pretty everything is!

On my way there I hit the Pioneer Festival Parade setup in Henrietta, TX. Everyone was starting to line the streets for the parade. Makes you wish you lived in a small town like that. You can celebrate everything!

After work, Zach came down and met me so we could go eat at Babes! Lot's of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, and corn! I felt sick afterwards :(

Best food ever!

Zach stayed down in Dallas to go meet up with Chris Webb so that they could leave early the next morning for the Georgia Arkansas game in Fayetteville, AR.

By the way- when did UGA get so fat?

Zach and Chris at the Game

Back at home, Dad got in that night at Midnight for the weekend. The next day he got to watch us play Oklahoma City University and Arkansas Fort Smith. We split on the day, but we play Arkansas Fort Smith on Tuesday for some revenge.
This is Aggie Gym- where we play all of our home games!

Zach got home on Sunday from an awesome trip to watch Arkansas get beat!! Dad left this morning to go back to Georgia- sad to see him go :(

And the week starts all over again!~

Apartamiento

This is our new apartment that we moved into in July. Many of you haven't seen it, so I figured I
would post the pics.

This is the outside
of our apartment

As you enter the door,
you go straight up a flight
of stairs- pretty exciting when
the washer and dryer connections
are on the 3rd floor!

The seating area
has already changed since we took this picture. We rearranged to make it look like we have some more room. Unfortunately due to the changes, MJ is out of a "Gladys" position.

This is our downstairs- even
though it has changed
a bit.

This is our blue blue blue bathroom.

This is our guest bedroom. The dresser and desk are now painted white-
thanks mom! And we now have some awesome curtains hanging in there
too- again, thanks mom!

This is another view
of the guest room.

Entering me and Zach's room-
protection provided by lethal killer MJ

"The Reading Area"
Never used- just looks good.
Now covered in laundry.

We moved the bed around
since the picture. And we
bought curtains months ago
and have not hung them up yet
- oops.

Good thing
we have huge
closets because
my clothes
would not
all fit in here!

Forgot the
kitchen!
Small, but it
does the job!

This is where MJ sits every time I am in the bathroom doing laundry, showering, etc. Watchdog is on guard!

Hope you enjoyed the tour!

No More False Advertising in Omaha

Last Time I was in Omaha with Ally

Ok, so the last time I was in Omaha it was -27 degree windchill at Convention last December. Awful. At convention they had this awesome booklet- however, it had pictures of a green Omaha which equals false advertising. Well apparently, it does not snow in Omaha year round- thank God. I prefer warmer weather- hence why I live in Oklahoma now. Can't imagine what I would have done if I took the job in South Dakota! AH!

Anyways, the girls went 3-1 in Omaha this weekend against Minnesota State Moorhead, Southern Indiana, Drury, and Missouri S&T. They played awesome even though we had some crazy line up changes due to injuries. Currently we are 10-2 and start conference this week on Thursday against Midwestern. If you want to read more about the weekend then you can click here.

See Ally- Omaha is Green!

We were gone from Thursday to Sunday, so I am glad to be back at home for the next week or so. Zach and I are going down Friday to Texas to recruit (I am tagging him along- but he will only be happy if we go eat at Babe's!)

Abilene Christian University Weekend

This week was relatively busy, while still uneventful. Mondays and Tuesdays I work from six in the morning until nine at night, and then on Wednesdays I have a late class- on top of my full time job from eight till five (which I don't really get paid for!). I would much rather be at home hanging out with my awesome husband, but I know I will later appreciate the hard word at my masters and the hard work for some extra cash!

The team left on Thursday at 2:00 to travel to Abilene Christian for a tournament. We played and won two matches on Friday and then split the two matches on Saturday. We were about five points away from being eight and 0- but I think seven and one is not so bad either. The girls played kind of spotty (good then terrible then great then decent then back to great). They were all over the place but the still did very well. To read the story you can go here. One of the coolest things that I saw while we were at ACU was their chapel service on Friday afternoon. The entire student body was packed into the gym (which is a pretty awesome gym by the way!) and worshipped together for about an hour. It was while our girls were in the training room and getting ready that it took place. It was so awesome to hear all of the voices together worshipping Christ, singing songs of praise and listening to a message. It was so powerful to hear.

The best part of the weekend was that Zach came down on Saturday. He road with Bri's (the head coach) boyfriend, Steve, down from Lawton to Abilene, which is about a three and a half hour drive. Bri's family lives in Abilene, so she and Steve were going to stay for the remainder of Labor Day weekend- which meant that I had to drive the bus back- ahhh! It really helped having Zach there to help me maneuver the big thing since he's a CDL driver. It was definitely not as bad as I thought it would be, but I hate driving at night even in my little Civic! I just feel exhausted from concentrating so hard when I drive at night.

All in all, the weekend was great. Zach and I went to church this morning (no Sunday school since we didn't get home until about 1:00 AM) and listened to a message on the covenant of marriage. Now I am at work putting off my list of things to do for school. Oh and I hope all of you enjoy your labor day! Unfortunately I will be laboring on labor day- which I think should be illegal!!

Next weekend we play in Omaha, NE so that should be an exciting trip! And maybe next time I will take some pictures so you will have something to look at on the blog instead of just reading!
